Roy Rogers has been hired as head coach of the new Liverpool franchise in the UK’s Super League Basketball. The SLB starts play in the first week of October. Rogers, who has an extensive professional basketball coaching resume as an assistant in the NBA, most recently coached at the University of Memphis.
Andrew Pinckney has been named organizational Minor League Defensive Player of the Year by the Washington Nationals
George Teague is being honored as a 2026 recipient of the Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athlete Award. The award honors former University of Alabama athletes who have demonstrated outstanding character, significant contributions to society, professional achievement and service to others after leaving the university. Teague will be formally honored at this week’s home opener in Tuscaloosa.
