Western Michigan University head coach and Alabama alumnus Lance Taylor has been named Paul “Bear” Bryant National Coach of the Week. Taylor’s WMU squad had seemingly upset nationally-ranked Michigan until a controversial replay call gave Michigan an extra play.
Former Alabama walk-on Jackson Roby has been hired by the Miami Dolphins as a scouting assistant. Roby most recently worked with the Senior Bowl in a similar capacity.
Raekwon Davis was arrested last week on an aggravated assault charge in Texas. The assault arose from an altercation between Davis and the owner of an automobile detailing company that had misplaced the key to Davis’ truck.
