Daily Recap – September 6, 2020

News

None of the Alabama players that were waived by NFL teams were claimed by other teams. Of those that cleared waivers, Carson Tinker, Gehrig Dieter, Hale Hentges, Jared Mayden, Ross Pierschbacher, Cam Sim, and Saivion Smith all were signed to the practice squads of the teams that waived them. Robert Foster signed with Green Bay in a practice squad deal. Shyheim Carter, Lester Cotton, Tim Williams, Derrick Gore, and Maurice Smith were not signed to any practice squads in the first day that practice squad rosters became open.

Sunday was supposed to be the premiere of Fox Sports’ documentary, “TUA.” However, the programming that preceded it, the NHRA U.S. Nationals, was impacted by a rain delay and ran over its time slot by over two hours. It appears that the documentary will now be aired next Saturday, though airtime and network hasn’t been announced.

Justin Thomas remained in contention at the PGA Tour Championship, shooting a 3rd round 66 to move up to T2. JT’s round included 3 made putts of more than 25 feet, which equaled a personal best. However, he lost ground to leader Dustin Johnson, who’s going into the final round with a 5 stroke lead.

Haylie McCleney second hit of the game, a 6th inning double, drove in the tying and go-ahead runs, as Team Osterman defeated Team Ocasio 5-4 in Athletes Unlimited play.
