Justin Thomas had to settle for a -22, T-2nd finish at the ZOZO Championship. Thomas started out hot, with birdies on 3 of the first 6 holes, but didn’t card another birdie until 18. That wasn’t enough to hold off Patrick Cantlay, who shot at 65 to win at -23. The T-2 finish marks Thomas’ 19th finish of 2nd or better in his career (13 wins, 2 T-1 losses in playoffs, and 4 2nd place finishes).
It was a rough weekend for significant injuries to Alabama players in NFL games. Landon Collins is believed to have torn his Achilles tendon, and will have an MRI to confirm tomorrow. If so, it would be a season-ending injury. Kenyan Drake converted a 4th-and-1 late in tonight’s game, and limped off the field. He was then carted off to the locker room with what is believed to be a significant ankle injury. Jonah Williams left Cincinnati’s game in the first half with a neck injury and didn’t return. Severity of his injury is unknown.
