Tua Tagovailoa has been named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for Week 13. It’s his first ROTW award this season, and the second by an Alabama player (Jedrick Wills won for Week 10).

Bradley Bozeman addressed the media in Baltimore today, and talked about the emotions of being selected as Baltimore’s Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee. He also gave a lot of credit to wife Nikki for the work behind the foundation.

Former Alabama golfer Daniela Lendl, who has worked with the USGA the past few years in a rules role, will become a PGA Tour rules official on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2021. She’ll the first female rules official on a PGA Tour.

Chavis Williams has been hired as the new head football coach at Dora High School, where he graduated in 2007. Williams has been the head coach at Carbon Hill High School the past two season.

Collin Sexton is dealing with a minor ankle injury, and will be held out of Cleveland’s preseason opener tomorrow.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Cyrus Jones’ open heart surgery, which was discovered when he signed in Denver mid-season last season after having been released by Baltimore. The Washington Post has a profile on Jones and his quest to get back on the field (Jones recently had a visit with Houston).

If you’re looking for a good book for a Christmas gift or want to get a head start on New Year resolutions, Marvin Constant has a new book, “Fitness at 40 Plus.” Marvin’s book takes a comprehensive approach to fitness and exercise, encompassing nutrition, rest and recovery, and the mental aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle into a plan. Blake Sims has a bit role as a Florida Atlantic quarterback in the DisneyPlus production “Safety,” which premieres tonight. “Safety” is the story of former Clemson defensive back Ray Ray McElrathbey, who had to step up and raise his younger brother while playing for Clemson in the mid 2000s.

Charlotte Morgan appeared on the D1 Softball podcast to discuss her time at Alabama and her new job as head coach at CSUN.

Community Outreach

Quinnen Williams announced today that his foundation will be giving $50,000 to 100 single-parent families in the Birmingham area for the holiday season. Applications available at Q’s website.

Mark Barron, in conjunction with TAP Inc., is giving $1,000 to 15 families in the Mobile area for Christmas. Flyer is posted below, and applications are available at Barron’s website.

Henry Ruggs bought new uniforms for the boys basketball team Lee High School (Montgomery) to celebrate the team’s state championship last year. The uniforms are based on Ruggs’ design.
