Maruschka Waldus announced that she is leaving Vålerenga after two seasons. Vålerenga had unprecedented success during Waldus’ run – winning both the Toppserien and the NM Cupen championships this year (both for 1st time), finishing second in both championships last year, and qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time ever. For now, Waldus is headed to Australia to play for Adelaide City in the W-League. Its season gets underway on December 28.

Merel Van Dongen’s goal at the 5′ mark was the margin of victory in Atlético de Madrid’s 1-0 over in-town rival Real Madrid. It was Van Dongen’s 3rd goal in 12 games, and two of the goals resulted in 1-0 victories. Here’s the goal:
