Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Derrick Henry (Jan 4)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Derrick Henry. Henry ran for a career-high 250 yards, and finished the season with 2,027 yards on the ground, 5th most in NFL history. Henry is the first person in NFL history with 5 games of more than 200 rushing yards and at least 2 rushing touchdowns.

Runner-up this week is Collin Sexton. Sexton broke an 88-88 tie with a 3-pointer with 27 seconds left, then hit 4 free-throws in the final 8 seconds to seal a Cleveland win. Sexton’s streak of 20+ point games is now at 11.

Others of note:

Xavier McKinney had 8 tackles, a tackle for loss, and his first career interception. The INT came in the end zone in the final two minutes to preserve New York’s victory.

Josh Jacobs had 89 yards rushing and 2 TDs. He surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season, becoming the first Alabama running back to accomplish that feat in the NFL in his first two seasons.

Ronnie Harrison had 6 tackles and a pass defended.

Jonathan Allen had 6 tackles.

Jerry Jeudy had a season-high 140 yards receiving and a touchdown. His 92-yard TD was the longest in the NFL this season.

Retin Obasohan had a 26 point, 6 assist game off the bench in a Nymburk win.

Ricky Tarrant had a 22 point, 9 rebound game in a close win for Ramat Gan.

JaMychal Green, coming off a calf injury, had a 14 point, 5 rebound, 3 assist, 2 steal game in 27 minutes off the bench in a Denver road win.

Bola Olaniyan had a 16 point / 5 rebound game.
