News

Earlier this week, Dicky Pride won the qualifier for the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Today, he won the event on the strength of back-to-back 67s, winning by 3 strokes. Pride becomes the 18th golfer in history to win an event on the PGA Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour, and the Champions Tour. Pride, who had no status on the tour, now is exempt for the rest of the tour’s year.

Erin Routliffe won the doubles title at the Futures 100K event in Bonita Springs, Florida today, marking her 2nd straight time to win in Bonita Springs (event wasn’t held in 2020), and her 14th career Futures doubles title. Three of the four matches she won went to a tiebreaker set.

Reports out of Houston are that the Texans plan to sign Shyheim Carter to a free agent contract. Carter participated in the Texans’ rookie mini-camp this weekend.

Donta Hall finished the NBA season with a flourish tonight, scoring 14 points and adding 10 rebounds for his first career NBA double-double. Hall’s scoring output is his second career-high mark reached this week.

Collin Sexton’s NBA season ended on a low note, with him getting ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul on an inadvertent elbow on drive to the basket. Sexton’s 16 points prior to the 3rd quarter ejection, however, was enough for him to finish with a scoring averaging of 24.333 points per game, eclipsing Latrell Sprewell’s 24.225 points per game in 1996-97 as the highest-ever for an Alabama player in the NBA.
