Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Dicky Pride (May 17)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Dicky Pride. Pride open-qualified for the Mitsubishi Electric Classic early in the week, then won the event on Sunday by three strokes, securing his status on the Champions Tour. Pride has now won events on the PGA Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour, and the Champions Tour.

Runner-up this week is Erin Routliffe. Routliffe won the doubles title at the Futures 100K event in Bonita Springs, Florida on Sunday, marking her 2nd straight time to win in Bonita Springs (event wasn’t held in 2020), and her 14th career Futures doubles title. Three of the four matches she won went to a tiebreaker set.

Others of note:

Tom Lovelady Monday-qualified for the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Stephanie Meadow finished T2 at a US Women’s Open qualifier in Arizona.

Collin Sexton had games of 25 points / 8 assists and 28 points / 8 assists.

Donta Hall had a 14 point / 10 rebound game off the bench for Orlando.

Kira Lewis had games of 13 points and 12 points off the bench for New Orleans.

Retin Obasohan had games of 17 points and 22 points off the bench to help Nymburk advance to Czech finals.

Nick King had a 25 point / 6 rebound game to advance Leiden to the Dutch semifinals.

Spencer Turnbull allowed just 1 run and struck out 7 in a 6.1 inning start.

Kyle Overstreet had 2 multi-hit games, and hit safely in 5 of 6 games during the week.

Jimmy Nelson threw 3.2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts.

Anton McKee finished 2nd in the 200m Breast at a TYR Pro Swim Series event

Emmanuel Bor finishes 2nd in the Men’s 10000m and met the Olympic standard.
