In Memoriam

Former Alabama offensive lineman Christopher Sign, who worked locally as a news anchor at ABC 33/40, was found dead this morning in Hoover of an apparent suicide. Sign, 45, played four seasons under Gene Stallings, and had a successful news career, first as a reporter and then as an anchor. Sign had two stints in Birmingham, and in between worked in the Phoenix market. Sign had won an Emmy Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and authored a book based on a story he broke in Phoenix related to a secret tarmac meeting between former President Bill Clinton and Obama attorney general Loretta Lynch. ABC 33/40 paid tribute to Sign today.

News

Eryk Anders, who’s last fight in March ended in a no contest when he delivered what was ruled an illegal blow versus Darren Stewart, won a rematch tonight in an unanimous decision against Stewart. Anders broke open the fight in the third and final round with a takedown of Stewart, when he proceeded to land blows for the final two minutes of the round.

Former Alabama adapted athlete Annika Zeyen won the silver medal at the Para Cycling World Cup yesterday.

Dicky Pride made this birdie on 18 to move into the Top 10 at the American Family Insurance Championship with one round to do.
