Joshua Primo told ESPN this evening that he plans to forego his remaining college eligibility and will keep his name in the NBA Draft. Primo has seen an uptick in interviews and workouts with teams over the past week, and is now projected to be drafted in the second half of the first round.
Remona Burchell was added the the Jamaican Olympic track & field team today, which makes her the 20th Alabama athlete named to the games. Burchell, who finished 5th in the 100 meter at the Jamaican Nationals this month, was named to the 4x100m relay team, and will probably run in a preliminary race. Jamaica is favored to win the gold in the women’s 4x100m relay.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the major league debut of the “other” Sewell – Luke Sewell. The younger brother of Joe was signed by Cleveland shortly after completing his degree and 1921, and would be called up after only 17 games in the minors. He’d play for 20 seasons. Sewell would also manage for 10 seasons in the majors, and led the St. Louis Browns to its only World Series in 1944.
