The New Orleans Pelicans played their first summer league game today, marking the first time Herb Jones has appeared in a professional game. Kira Lewis finished with 11 points, 7 assists, and no turnovers. Off the bench, Jones filled up the stat sheet with 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, and was a +25. New Pelicans head coach Willie Green said that Jones defensively “was all over the place.”

Da’Shawn Hand had a media availability as well (starts at 4:25 of the clip below). Hand says he put on more weight for this season to better enable him to come off blocks. Other takeaway is that we don’t get enough Da’Shawn Hand interviews.
