News

Cam Newton’s absence from camp due to COVID protocols has opened the door for Mac Jones to get the majority of snaps this week, including in joint practices with the New York Giants later in the week.

Calvin Ridley’s game mentality was working in joint practices against the Dolphins last week.

Derrick Henry received his largest workload of training camp today, as the Titans have managed his reps thus far in camp.

Mark Barron (with the Las Vegas Raiders) and Bo Scarbrough (with the Buffalo Bills) both worked out for teams today.

After a bumpy start today, Justin Thomas settled in and finished -15, T-4th at the Northern Trust. He goes into next week’s BMW Championship sitting at 5th in FedEx Cup points.

Jerry Jeudy comes in at #3 on Peter Schrager’s Top 10 Breakout Players for 2021.

Peyton Wilson homered for the first time in his brief professional career tonight in Arizona Complex League play.

Community Outreach

Mark McMillian will be hosting two events in the Philadelphia area on August 26. The first will be football camp in the morning for 6th-9th grade children. In the evening, he’ll be hosting grilling exhibition and bourbon and beer tasting. Proceeds will benefit McMillian’s LIFT Program.

Mac Jones appeared on WEEI Sports Talk Radio in Boston today. Jones compared Bill Belichick and Nick Saban, and also talked about Cam Newton as a mentor, preparing for the future, and not worrying about his athleticism.

Damien Harris spoke to the Patriot beat on a Zoom conference today.
