The New Orleans Pelicans today announced the signing of John Petty to an Exhibit 10 contract today, which is a common maneuver at the end of training camp to allocate a player to the G League affiliate. Among other transactions today, the Pelicans also announced that it has picked up Kira Lewis’ third year option for the 2022-23 season.

Tony Brown returned to the NFL today, signing to the Raiders’ practice squad a day after a workout with the team. Brown was released off the Bengals’ practice squad two weeks ago.

Tua Tagovailoa returned to practice in Miami today, placing him a step closer to playing this weekend. Julio Jones also returned to practice after having missed the last two Titans games with a hamstring injury.

The Athletic has a feature on the relationship between Najee Harris and Braxton Weidman, a cancer patient that Harris befriend while at Alabama last fall.

Derrick Henry won the vote for FedEx Ground Player of the Week, marking the 3rd time in 4 weeks that he has won the award.
