The NFL Combine is now underway, with wide receivers among the position groups that did interviews today. Slade Bolden, John Metchie, and Jameson Williams all taking turns in front of the media this morning. Bolden discussed his decision to leave school with a year of eligibility left, and also answered a lot of questions about the New England Patriots. Metchie and Williams both gave updates on their recoveries from knee surgeries. Metchie indicated that he should be ready to go by June, and Williams said that he was ahead of schedule in his rehab.

Also at the Combine today, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas confirmed that the Jets intend to pick up Quinnen Williams’ 5th-year option for the 2023 season. Williams is one of three Alabama players (Jonah Williams and Josh Jacobs are the others) eligible for 5th year option exercises before the new league year begins in mid-March.

Former New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who is now the Las Vegas Raiders head coach, said today that his former pupil Mac Jones might be the most mature quarterback that he’s coached before.

Alabama Gymnastics alumna Marie Robbins, as well as Sarah Patterson, were honored as SEC Trailblazers before Alabama’s basketball game at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament today.

Retin Obasohan has been selected to play in the Winner League All Star Game on March 18.
