Emmanuel Bor has been withdrawn from next weekend’s World Indoor Championships. The withdrawal was a US Army decision (Bor is an active-duty staff sergeant in the Army’s World Class Athlete Program), with no specific reason given for the withdrawal. Bor was scheduled to run in the men’s 3000m.

Saketh Myneni and partner Yuki Bhambri have advanced to the doubles finals of the Futures Tour event in Bhopal, India. The 2-seeds took out 3-seeded Cash / Strombachs in straight sets today.

Olivia Fotopoulou has been invited to next weekend’s World Indoor Championships in the women’s 60m. A spot opened up for Fotopoulou when the event had not filled its 56-person allotment, and she was the next highest ranked sprinter in the current world rankings.

A series of withdrawals and a rain delay resulted in Michael Thompson gaining entry into the Players Championship this morning. Thompson, who started the week as 5th alternate for the event, had his number called when Tyler McCumber withdrew today before starting his rain-delayed first round.

Wilson Furr and Steven Setterstrom both earned partial exemptions for the 2022 PGA Tour Canada at the tour qualifier in Dothan today. Furr (T-6th) and Setterstrom (T-8th) earn exemptions through the first reshuffle by virtue of finishing in spots 2-9 at the qualifier. Jonathan Hardee, T-10th, finished one spot outside of the exemption cut-off, and will have conditional status for the 2022 season.

Keitavious Walter, in his first year as assistant track coach at Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College, has been named NJCAA men’s assistant coach of the year for the Central region.

Jefferson Davis High School retired Jasmine Walker’s jersey today. Walker won two state championships at JDHS, and would be the 6th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA draft.

Ten years after working for a McDonald’s franchise as a teenager, Quanesha Burks has landed an endorsement deal with the company. Burks’ story as a former McDonald’s gained national attention when she competed in the Tokyo Olympics last summer.

Henry Ruggs’ preliminary hearing on felony drunk driving charges has been re-scheduled for May 19.
