Jereem Richards won the men’s 400 meter at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade today in a time of 45.00 flat. Richards’ time was an indoor personal best, a Trinidad & Tobago national best, and a World Indoor Championship meet record. Richards’ traditionally a 200 meter specialist, dedicated himself to running the 400 meter for indoor season in memory of Deon Lendore, his fellow countryman who was killed in an auto accident in January. Richards’ time broke Lendore’s national record, and Richards dedicated the victory to Lendore following the race.

Davis Riley posted a career low 62 (9 birdies) to take sole possession of the 54-hole lead at the Valspar Championship. Riley’s previous career low round on the PGA Tour was 65, which he shot most recently on Thursday. Riley, -18, has a 2-stroke lead going into the final round. Justin Thomas, who was paired with Riley on Saturday, lingers at -15 after shooting his 3rd consecutive 66.

Spencer Turnbull presented Eric Haase, who caught his no-hitter last season, with a Rolex watch as a gift at a team meeting at Detroit’s spring training facility yesterday.
