Davis Riley, 54-hole leader at the Valspar Championship, lost in a playoff to Sam Burns. The second place finish nonetheless marks a career-best PGA Tour finish for Riley, who won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour. Riley entered the day with a two-stroke lead, but was done in by a triple bogey on the Par 5 5th hole. Riley would birdie 17 to regain a share of the lead, then lost on the second playoff hole. Justin Thomas finished T-3rd.

Krystal Rivers and Stuttgart won the DVV Pokal Cup with a straight-set win over rivals Dresden. Rivers, who had 16 points, was 59 percent on attack efficiency.
