Krystal Rivers and Stuttgart won Germany’s Volley Bundesliga championship with a straight-set win in Game Five over Potsdam. Stuttgart survived 2 match points in Game Four in Potsdam, and brought the momentum back home to close out Game Five in relatively easy fashion. Rivers finished with 18 points, and had a season-high 71 percent attack efficiency.
Rivers has now won league championships in four of her six professional seasons. She has won in 2017 (Philippines), 2018 (France), 2019 (Germany), and 2022 (Germany). Rivers and Stuttgart were in first place when the 2020 season ended prematurely due to the pandemic, and Stuttgart lost out on the 2021 championship when Rivers missed the final two games of the championship series.

Matt Foster closed out a stellar week by striking out the side in the 8th inning of a 3-2 win for Chicago over Boston. Foster lowered his ERA to 0.66.
