Herb Jones was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team today.

Freddie Kitchens has been hired as a senior analyst at South Carolina. Kitchens was most recently the tight ends coach and interim offensive coordinator with the New York Giants, but was not retained after the Giants’ off-season coaching change.

Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell gave an update on Irv Smith Jr’s rehab progress, and said that Irv is a big part of the Vikings’ plans.

Abbas Qali picked up two more gold medals at the Gulf State Games, bringing his total gold medal count to four. Qali won the Men’s 100m Butterfly, and was part of the winning 4x100m Freestyle Relay.

Jake Walters threw to live pitching today for the first time since undergoing elbow surgery last summer. Walters threw 25 pitches over 2 innings at the Marlins’ complex in Jupiter, Florida.
