Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Justin Thomas. Down 7 strokes at the beginning of Round 4, Thomas posted a final round 67 to win the 2022 PGA Championship in a playoff. It’s Thomas’ second career major championship, and the 15th career PGA Tour win.
Runner-up this week is Abbas Qali. Qali won 4 gold medals at the Gulf State Games in Kuwait (2 individual and 2 relays) in what turned out to be the final meet of his career. Qali announced his retirement from competitive swimming following the Games.
