With no Men’s 200 Meter in the Diamond League portion of this year’s Prefontaine Classic, Jereem Richards chose to run in the Men’s 400 Meter in an all-star field that included Kirani James. The race marked the first time ever that James and Richards had been in the same field for an event. James finished second in a season-best 44.02 seconds, while Richards, 5th, posted a career-best 44.79 seconds.
Erin Routliffe advanced to the 3rd round of the women’s double draw at the French Open with a straight-set win today. It’s the second time of her career that Routliffe has reached Round 3 of a grand slam event (she also did it at the 2021 US Open).
Alex Avila took part in the 2022 Hall of Fame Classic in Cooperstown, New York today. Clip of the entire game is here.
