Tua Tagovailoa, speaking to the media after a second day of OTAs, responded to social media critiques of his arm strength, and also had high praise for head coach Mike McDaniels’ positive approach. Full media clip is below. McDaniel also shared his assessment of Tagovailoa’s arm strength, which was evidenced by two 40+ pass plays in today’s practice..

Davis Riley continued his strong recent play with an opening round 67 (-5) at the Memorial, and a share of the 18-hole lead. Riley acknowledged that recent advice from Justin Thomas has helped his game.

Saketh Myneni and partner Yuki Bhambri upset the top seeds in straight sets to reach the finals at the ATP Challenger Tour event in Prostejov, Czech Republic. Myneni and Bhambri will face the tournament’s 2-seeds tomorrow.

Kelly Kretschman has been named head coach of the USSSA Pride. The Pride and the Smash It Sports Vipers will make up the inaugural season for Women’s Professional Fastpitch, whose season launches June 14. Kretschman spent most of her playing career with USSSA in the now-defunct Women’s Pro Fastpitch league (not to be confused with the new league with a similar name).

Retin Obasohan and Hapoel Jerusalem had its season come to an end today. The top seed of Israel’s Winner League lost a deciding semifinal Game 3 at home to Hapoel Holon.

Mykal Riley will continue his basketball career for at least one more season. He has signed with Besançon Avenir Comtois of the French NM1 league for the 2022-23 season. After taking the 2020-21 season off, Riley played for Les Sables in the NM1 league (which is France’s 3rd tier league) last season.

Evan Neal’s play at OTAs has been described as “dominant” by one of his offensive line teammates.

Christian Harris signed his rookie deal today, leaving only Jalyn Armour-Davis unsigned among the Alabama rookies.

Community Outreach

Kenyan Drake will be hosting “Cocktails for a Cause” at the S Bar in Mandelay Bay in Las Vegas on June 9. The event will benefit SmileTrain, an organization that does corrective dental surgeries for children in less-developed countries. Donations are also accepted if you cannot attend.
