It’s been an interesting week for Eryk Anders. Earlier in the week, he accepted an invitation to represent the United States in kickboxing at the World Games as a replacement for someone who couldn’t reach Birmingham due to flight issues. Anders then had to later decline the invitation on the advice of his manager, citing that UFC would terminate his contract if he competed. Then today, Anders announced on Instagram that he’s going to appear on a B2 Fight Series card in Orange Beach, Alabama on August 19. No word yet on UFC’s reaction to Anders’ appearance on the card, but can’t imagine that they’ll approve it.

Newsday spoke with David Robertson, who is seen as a possible trade target for the New York Mets, given his Yankees days and his post-season experience in the New York market.
