News

Dylan Ray was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the 2nd pick of the 4th round (108th overall selection.

Shelby McEwen finished 5th in the Men’s High Jump at the World Athletics Championship, and was the top American finisher. In the 200 Meter, Tamara Clark, Jereem Richards, and Tarsis Orogot all advanced to tomorrow’s semifinals with Top 3 finishes in their heats. Clark and Richards both won their heats.

In other track news, Quanesha Burks, Tamara Clark, Daniel Haugh, and Shelby McEwen are each recipients of $30,000 Stephen A. Schwarzman Grants from the USATF Foundation. The Alabama alumni are among 100 athletes receiving grants from the Foundation.

Current and former Alabama adapted athletes had strong showing for the U.S. and Canadian Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball teams on Medal Day at the IWBF America’s Cup. On the women’s side, Canada beat the United States for gold on the strength of Cindy Ouellet’s 30 point performance. The U.S. men won gold and the Canadian men bronze in their draw.

A.S. Monaco officially announced the signing of Donta Hall to a three-year extension. With Hall this past season, Monaco was runner-up in the French LNB, and advanced to the quarterfinals in its first season in the EuroLeague.
