As expected, the Chicago Cubs have traded David Robertson to a contending team. Robertson returns to Philadelphia, where he originally planned to spending the 2019-2020 seasons before being sidelined by elbow surgery 6.2 innings into his tenure.

Former Alabama 400m specialist Champion Allison, who finished his eligibility at Florida after graduating from Alabama, has announced that he’s signing a professional contract with Puma Athletics. Allison recently was part of the United States’ gold medal 4x400m relay team at the World Athletics Championships.

Irv Smith Jr. suffered a thumb injury in training camp yesterday, and had surgery on the thumb today. Per Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, Smith has not been ruled out for the Vikings opener.
Janie Jackson captured one of the final 12 qualifier spots for this week’s AIG Women’s British Open. Jackson will join Cheyenne Knight, Stephanie Meadow, Lauren Stephenson, and Emma Talley in the field for the LPGA’s final major of the year.
Justin Thomas returned to Louisville this week, where he his hosting his annual junior golf tournament. Thomas spoke to the media today at Harmony Landing Country Club, where he grew up playing.
