News

Minkah Fitzpatrick has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1.

Brian Robinson returned to practice today in Washington, marking his first workout with the team since being shot in a robbery attempt two and a half weeks ago and having related surgery on his knee. Robinson, wearing a knee wrap, rode a stationary bike and did some agility drills. He’ll miss at least three more weeks on the Non-Football Injury list.

Mac Jones was a full participant at practice today, despite suffering from back spasms from a hit he took on Sunday. Jones also spoke at length about his upcoming match-up against defensive player of the week Minkah Fitzpatrick.

One week after being elevating to the active roster as a fill-in, Carson Tinker was permanently promoted to the 53-man roster today. The Seahawks’ incumbent snapper will have shoulder surgery and will be sidelined indefinitely, creating the opportunity for Tinker.

The year of unusual injuries and illnesses continues. The Chicago Bears placed Alex Leatherwood on the Non-Football Illness Reserve list today, reportedly for mononucleosis. Leatherwood will miss the next four games as a minimum. Elsewhere, Aaron Robinson had his appendix removed today, and will be out at least a week.

One-time Alabama throw and two-time Olympic medalist Sarah Robles has been named to the U.S. Weightlifting team for the upcoming world championships.
