Brian Robinson has been named Sports Illustrated’sInspiration of the Year.” The award was part of the publication’s annual awards celebration yesterday evening. Robinson’s survival of an armed robbery attack has been well documented on here. The publication found inspiration in particular in Robinson’s return to the field in five weeks after being shot twice in the leg, and his contribution as a rookie to Washington’s resurgence since he returned to the field.

There are a couple of feature pieces on Jalen Hurts today. The Philadelphia Inquirer looks at Hurts’ leadership style through the eyes of other Philadelphia Eagles captains. Also, Yahoo Sports examines how Hurts going through seven different play-calles in seven years honed his ability to quickly adapt to his current offense.

Najee Harris is apparently unaware of his rising reputation for having a strong stiff arm.

Lance Taylor was introduced as head coach of Western Michigan University today.

Phillip Ely stepped down as an assistant coach at McNeese State University to spend more time with his family. Ely and his wife, former Alabama softball player Kellie Case, have two young daughers.

Tua Tagovailoa’s tongue-twisting surname made The Captioning Group’s list of the most mispronounced words.

The New York Mets officially announced the signing of David Robertson today.
