Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Jalen Hurts (February 13)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Jalen Hurts. In Super Bowl LVII, Hurts generated 374 yards of offense (304 passing and 70 rushing), ran for 3 touchdowns, and threw for a fourth. Hurts’ 3 TDs tied a Super Bowl record, and his rushing yards were the most ever by a quarterback in a Super Bowl. Hurts also became the first Alabama player to score a touchdown in a Super Bowl, and is the first Alabama quarterback to throw for over 300 yards in a Super Bowl.

DeVonta Smith had 7 catches for 100 yards in the Super Bowl. The receiving yards are the most ever by an Alabama player in the Super Bowl.

Olivia Fotopoulou set three personal bests and three national records in two events over a two-hour span at an indoor meet in Greece, where she won both the Women’s 60 Meter and the Women’s 200 Meter.

Jereem Richards won the Men’s 400 Meter at the Millrose Games.

Daniel Haugh finished first in the Men’s Weight Throw at the Music City Challenge.

Saketh Myneni reached the semifinals in an ATP 250 level event, which is the deepest he has gone in the doubles draw of an ATP event above the Challenger level.

Krystal Rivers had 21 points in Stuttgart’s sweep.

Justin Thomas finished 4th at the WM Phoenix Open.

Emma Talley finsihed T-4th at the Vic Open in Australian.

Polly Mack finished T-13th on the Ladies European Tour.

Gavin Moynihan finished T-4th on the Mena Tour.

Collin Sexton scored 22 points in consecutive games, and also scored his 5,000th career point. He averaged 19.7 points and 5.3 assists in his last three games.

Levi Randolph hit a game-winning shot with 0.6 seconds left to give Jerusalem a win in Champions League play. Randolph had 14 points and 5 rebounds in the game.

JaMychal Green scored in double figures off the bench in two of Golden State’s games.

Herb Jones had an 11 point, 10 rebound, 4 assist, 3 steal, 1 block game for New Orleans.

J.D. Davison had a 23 point, 9 assist game, and also had a 13 assist game for Maine.

Galin Smith had 18 pionts and 10 rebounds to break a losing streak for Kataja.

Nick King had 22 points and 7 rebounds in a win for New Taipei.

Jay Shaw finished 8th overall at the King of the Hammers UTV Championships.
