News

Wilson Furr and Frankie Capan both finished with their first career Top 10 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour at the HomeTown Lenders Championship in Huntsville today. Furr, who had to complete Round 2 this morning, set a course record with a -9 61 in Round 2 to move within a couple of shots of the lead. Capan shot a 66 in Round 3 to finish T-3rd, while Furr, who was even par in Round 3, settled for T-8th. The finish was particularly meaningful for Furr, who was facing fallout from next week’s reshuffle, but he moved from 152nd to 79th on the points list to put himself in better standing in the reshuffle. He’s also guaranteed a spot in the next KFT event by virtue of the Top 10 finish.

Cheyenne Knight, who had a two-stroke 54-hole lead at the JM Eagle LA Championship, saw her lead disappear with two early bogeys, and then lost a share of the lead with a double-bogey on the 15th hole. She ended up with a T-6th finish, which is her best finish of the year.

The Minnesota Twins have returned Connor Prielipp to its Florida facility to being a throwing program. Prielipp made one 4-inning start for Cedar Rapids, then was shut down after experiencing tightness in his throwing arm. An MRI showed no structural damage. Prielipp says that he thinks he’ll be back in games by the end of June.
