Kirani James finished second in his Men’s 400 Meter heat today, and advanced to the finals at the World Athletics Championships. James has now reached the finals in every World Championship or Olympics since 2011, with the exception of 2017, during which he was sidelined with Graves disease.
Jereem Richards missed qualifying for the 400 Meter finals in the same event by 0.06 seconds, and revealed afterwards that he has been battling a plantar fasciitis tear since he had to pull out of the Men’s 200 Meter finals at the Trinidad & Tobago national championships last month.
After three successful weeks with the Fredericksburg Nationals, Andrew Pinckney has been promoted to the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the South Atlantic League.
Erin Routliffe and partner Gabriela Dabrowski advanced to the doubles semifinals at Tennis in the Land with a three-set win over top seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova. All three sets went to tiebreakers.
Eric Foggo earned his first career save for the St. Lucie Mets. Foggo pitched the final 3 innings of a 6-2 game.
