The NFL 2024 league year doesn’t begin until Wednesday, but today was the first day that teams could begin negotiations with free agents. Xavier McKinney, Josh Jacobs, and Mack Wilson all agreed to terms with new teams, while two other prized free agents – Derrick Henry and Calvin Ridley – remain available.
Xavier McKinney and the Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms on a 4-year, $68 million contract. The $17 million average per year will make McKinney the 4th-highest paid safety in the NFL (Minkah Fitzpatrick is 2nd).
Also headed to Green Bay is Josh Jacobs. The Packers and Jacobs agreed to a 4-year, $48 million deal.
Though previously expected to remain in New England, Mack Wilson is signing with Arizona. Wilson cashes in on a career-best season with a 3 year, $12.75 million deal with could reach $15 million with incentives.
Before the free agency frenzy got underway, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have agreed to terms with Landon Dickerson on a 4-year extension with a base salary of $84 million. The guaranteed portion of the deal is $50 million, with a $20 million signing bonus. At least for the time being, the $21 million average per year would make Dickerson the highest-paid guard in the NFL.
The Orlando Pride announced that it has signed McKinley Crone through the 2024 season. Crone was a member of the Pride organization part of last season as a national team replacement player, but didn’t appear in a game. She has been in camp this pre-season as a non-roster invitee.
