Daily Recap – March 12, 2024

News

The NFL’s “legal tampering” period continued today, and the big news was Derrick Henry agreeing to terms on a 2-year, $16 million deal with Baltimore. Henry’s deal includes $9 million in guaranteed money, and can reach $20 million with incentives. Baltimore had previously tried to acquire Henry at the 2023 trading deadline.

In other free agent news, A’Shawn Robinson will be heading to the Carolina Panthers on a 3-year, $22.5 million deal ($10.375 million guaranteed). Raekwon Davis will be joining the Indianapolis Colts on a 2-year, $14 million contract ($7 million guaranteed). Irv Smith Jr. will reportedly be signing a 1-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he’ll back up the league’s best tight end. Smith’s deal is for $1.292 million, with $384,000 guaranteed.

Calvin Ridley reportedly has a contract offer from the New England Patriots, but his preference seems to be to return to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The draft pick compensation that Jacksonville owes the Atlanta Falcons drops from a 2nd round pick to a 3rd round pick if the Jaguars sign Ridley after the league year begins tomorrow, so an announcement on Ridley probably won’t come before tomorrow afternoon.

Noah Clowney scored a professional career-best 33 points in Long Island’s win over Birmingham.
