In Memoriam – Cecil “Hootie” Ingram

Two-sport Alabama star and former Alabama athletic director Cecil “Hootie” Ingram died today in Tuscaloosa at the age of 90. Ingram played both football and baseball at Alabama in the 1950s, and was an All-SEC defensive back in 1952, when he led the nation with 10 interceptions. He moved into coaching after his collegiate career was over, including a stint as Clemson head coach from 1970-1972. Ingram later became an administrator with the SEC, Florida State, and eventually back at Alabama. Ingram served as Alabama athletic director from 1989-1995. He was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.

Shortly after the end of its last regular season game today, Hapoel Jerusalem announced the signing of Trevor Lacey for the remainder of the season. Lacey, who just finished his season with Vanoli Cremona in Italy yesterday, will be available for the Israeli Winner League playoffs. The signing reunites Lacey with former Alabama teammate Levi Randolph, who is the Jerusalem team captain.

Broadway Sports Media has launched a mult-part series titled “Molding J.C. Latham.” The first part of the series is an interview with Latham’s coach at IMG Academy, Kevin Wright.

Aaron Estrada has reportedly been added to the invite list for the upcoming G League Elite Camp in Chicago.

Justin Thomas was honored by the CIty of Louisville today.

Brandon Miller finished third in the NBA’s Rookie of the Year voting.
