John Metchie was selected as the 2024 George Halas Award winner by the Professional Football Writers of America. The Halas Award is given to an NFL player, coach or staff member who overcomes the most adversity to succeed. Metchie was honored for overcoming leukemia to return to play a full season in 2023. Tua Tagovailoa was one of the finalists.
