With yesterday’s doubles title, Erin Routliffe is now ranked 2nd in the WTA doubles rankings, behind only Elise Mertens. That’s another career high for Routliffe. Routliffe becomes only the 2nd Alabama tennis player to reach #2 in either the WTA or ATP rankings, joining Ellis Ferreira, who reached 2nd in the men’s doubles rankings in January 2000. No Alabama player has ever reached #1.
