Haylie McCleney announced today that she will be retiring at the conclusion of the Athletes Unlimited championship season (which starts tomorrow and concludes on August 25). McCleney: “After playing this game for the last 25 years, across 10+ countries, & basically all the United States… This season at Athletes Unlimited will be my last.” We’ll have more following the end of AU season.

Also announcing a retirement today is Sydney Littlejohn Watkins. Littlejohn came out of retirement a couple of years ago to play professionally with Athletes Unlimited, but has not played in the AU seasons in 2024.

Dalvin Tomlinson is going to have his knee scoped, which will keep him sidelined for a good portion of training camp, but the Cleveland Browns are optimistic that he’ll be ready for Week 1.

Amari Cooper talked about his restructured contract, and his desire to finish his career in Cleveland. Full interview is below.

Bryce Young is among a list of current and retired athletes that have recently made equity investments in the Portland Thorns FC, according to the team.

Allie Craig Cruce has been named assistant women’s basketball coach at Young Harris College in north Georgia.

The Detroit Lions have Jahmyr Gibbs running positional drills with the wide receivers early in training camp.

Catha Weiss is training hard to end Germany’s trend of finishing 4th at the Paralympics.
