Daily Recap – August 6, 2024

News

Kirani James, Jereem Richards, and Samuel Ogazi, all three running in different Men’s 400 Meter semifinals heats at the Paris Olympics, advanced to tomorrow’s final. James won his heat in a time of 46.78 seconds, which was his fastest time since the 2016 Rio Olympics, and just .04 seconds off his personal best, which he set back in July 2014. James, already the only person to win three medals in the event, becomes the first person in Olympics history to reach three 400 Meter finals. Richards ran second in his heat, and has now reached Olympic finals in both the 200 Meter and 400 Meter events. Ogazi was third in his heat with a personal-best time of 44.41 seconds, got the last spot in the 8-person field on his time.

The Denver Gazette reports that Jerry Jeudy asked the Denver Broncos to trade him twice last season – once before the season, and again at the conclusion of the season. Jeudy would eventually be traded to Cleveland at the beginning of the league year in March 2024.
