News
Erin Routliffe and partner Gabriela Dabrowski defeated Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Ellen Perez in straight sets in the semifinals at the WTA Finals today in Riyadh, avenging a loss to the same opponents in last year’s WTA Finals. Next up for Routliffe / Dabrowski will be Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend in the doubles championship tomorrow. It will be a rematch of this year’s Wimbledon final.
With 7 3-point goals tonight (matching a career high), Brandon Miller now has 200 career 3-pointers in 79 games, making him the third-fastest player in NBA history to reach 200 3-point goals.

The NBA G League opened its season tonight with 8 former Alabama players on team rosters, marking the most former Alabama players in the league at one time in G League history. With the exception of J.D. Davison, who is on a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics, all were on Exhibit 10 training camp deals with NBA teams (Alex Reese was in camp with Oklahoma City and appeared in one regular season game with the Thunder, but he has returned to Rip CIty in the G League). The players on G League Opening Night rosters are:
- Charles Bediako – Grand Rapids
- J.D. Davison – Maine
- Aaron Estrada – Motor City
- Kira Lewis – Capital City
- Josh Primo – Windy City
- Alex Reese – Rip City
- Jaden Shackelford – Valley
- Braxton Key – San Diego
