The Miami Dolphins announced today that the team is benching Tua Tagovailoa as starting quarterback this week (and presumably for the remainder of the season). The Dolphins were eliminated from playoff contention after Monday night’s loss, and Tagovailoa is struggling through his worst season as a professional.

AJ McCarron is ending his campaign for Lieutentant Governor of the state of Alabama, reportedly to pursue football interests.

Thomas Ponder won the Heritage Golf Tour’s Winter Championship by four strokes.

Community Outreach

Brandon Miller and Collin Sexton were among the Charlotte Hornets that participated in a holiday cheer event for Charlotte-area teachers.

Levi Wallace, through his foundation, treated 27 Tucson-area students on a Christmas shopping spree over the weekend.

Quinnen Williams’ foundation recently completed its sixth annual “100 Reasons Why” event. The program awards $40,000 a year to Birmingham-area single-parent families who apply to participate.

Mack Wilson visited an elementary school classroom at the Learning Foundation and Performing Arts Academy in Warner, Arizona.
