A couple more Alabama free agents found new NFL homes today. Da’Shawn Hand signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Dalvin Tomlinson, released by the Arizona Cardinals last week, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, essentially filling the defensive line vacancy left by Hand’s departure.
More light was shed today on the Brooklyn Nets’ decision to not sign Grant Nelson to a second 10-day contract. Nelson has been diagnosed with patellar tendinitis, and while he is rejoining the Long Island Nets, he will miss the remainder of the G League season.
Maddie Padelski officially made her professional debut this evening in the season opener for the National Women’s Soccer League. Padelski was subbed into Portland’s game at the 61-minute mark.
Justin Thomas and Lee Hodges both remained in contention after the third round at the Players Championship. Thomas shot a second-straight 68, and sits at T-4th, 4 shots behind the leader. Hodges, two shots behind Thomas, is T-7th.
