Eryk Anders defeated Brad Tavares by unanimous decision today on the preliminary card at UFC Vegas 114. After the fight, Anders announced that he was retiring from fighting. Anders finishes his MMA career with a 20-9 record, along with a no-contest bout, with 20 of the 30 bouts being UFC-sanctioned.
After beating seeded players in the past two rounds, Enzo Aguiard was the benefit of a walkover in his semifinal match at the ITF event in Timaru, New Zealand. He’ll be playing in his second final in the last three weeks.
Justin Thomas had an up-and-down day in third round play at the Players Championship, but two late birdies moved him back into contention. Thomas enters the final round at T-4th, 5 strokes behind the leader.
Gianna Paul made her professional soccer debut late in the Kansas CIty Current’s season-opener against the Utah Royals.
Jerome Ford and the Washington Commanders have agreed to terms on a one-year contract. Ford spent the past four seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
