For the second straight season, Montana Fouts pitched a complete game to close out the AUSL championship for the Utah Talons. Fouts took a shut-out into the 7th inning before surrendering a run in the 6-1 win over the Chicago Bandits.
Filip Planinsek won his second career professional title today in Ollersbach, Austria. Down a set and facing an opponent serving for the match, Planinsek rallied to win the second set and coasted through the third set to secure the victory. Planinsek’s run through the singles draw included wins over the 1, 2, 3, and 8 seeds.
Christopher Robinson picked up his first career national title by winning the Men’s 400 Meter Hurdles at the USATF Outdoor Championships. Robinson ran a season-best 47.61 seconds, and had a victory margin of almost a full second.
Thomas Ponder posted his third straight Top 3 finish on the PGA Tour Americas with a T-3rd finish at the Osprey Valley Open. Ponder now has 8 Top 10 finishes in the tour’s 10 events this season.
Trent Richardson has been added to the football coaching staff at John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham.
