News

Samuel Ogazi won the Men’s 400 Meter at the Commonwealth Games, marking the first-ever Games gold medal in the event for Nigeria. Ogazi’s time of 44.25 seconds was just 0.01 seconds off of the Commonwealth Games record (held by Kirani James). Jereem Richards took the silver medal, making it a 1-2 finish for Alabama sprinters.

Erin Routliffe picked up her first doubles title since winning the 2025 U.S. Open. Routliffe, who has cycled through a number of partners this year, finally found success with Aldila Sutjiadi, with whom she had previously won two championships. Routliffe’s win marks her second time to win the doubles title at the DC Open (she won with Jessica Pegula in 2022). She now has 13 career Grand Slam or WTA titles, and 29 total professional titles.

Kristina Paskauskas and partner Savannah Dada-Mascoll beat the 1-seeds in straight sets to claim the doubles title at the ITF event in Aldershot, England. The win is officially Paskauskas’ first professional doubles title, though she won two pro events as a collegiate amateur in 2022.

Davis Riley shot a 3rd round 63 to take a one-stroke lead going into the final round at the Rocket Classic. Riley posted a bogey-free round for the second straight day. Riley holds the 54-hole lead for the second time this season, and for the fourth time in his career (he is 1-for-3 in converting 54-hole leads into wins).
