Doris Lemngole once again shattered her personal best in the Women’s 3000 Meter Steeplechase at the Diamond League season finale in Brussels. Lemngole finished second in the race with a time of 8:52.86, which was a 3.06 second improvement over her personal best, which she re-set just last week. All told, Lemngole has shaved 6 seconds off her PB time in 3 races this summer. Today’s run was the sixth-fastest time ever in the event.

Running in the outside lane, Jereem Richards ran a persoanl-best 43.68 seconds in the Men’s 400 Meter at the Diamond League finale in a second-place finish. Richards’ PB also lowered his Trinidadian national record. His previous best time was 43.72 seconds.

Grant Nelson is officially back in the fold with the Brooklyn Nets on a two-way contract. Nelson spent most of last season with the Nets’ G League affiliate, and impressed the NBA club with his performance during a 10-day contract in March. Nelson’s season ended at the conclusion of the 10-day contract due to a knee issue. Nelson participated with the team in the summer league, though he didn’t see any game action.

Itala Gemelli made her NWSL debut this evening with a start at the center back position. Gemelli, who led the Current’s developmental team to a WPSL championship earlier this summer, was signed by the parent club shortly after the conclusion of the WPSL season, but had not appeared in a match before tonight.

Jeremy Gschwendtner won his third career profession doubles title today, and his first of 2026. Two of Gschwendtner’s three pro doubles titles have now come in Buzău, Romania.

Josh Jacobs’ initial court appearance on misdemeanor charges, originally scheduled for November 17, has been moved up to September 10. No reason was given for advancing the appearance date.

Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith have been named team captains for the 2026 Philadelphia Eagles.
