Jackie Sherrill has been named as the latest recipient of the Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award. Sherrill, who played on national championship teams at Alabama in 1964 and 1965, had a distinguished coaching career from 1966 through 2003. He is a member of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
Bud Cauley has joined The Golf League as a member of the new Motor City Golf Club team. Other members of the team include Brooks Koepka, Jake Knapp, Si Woo Kim, and Jackson Koivun.
Najee Harris was released by the New York Giants today, two days after expressing frustration with the Giants’ “running back by committee” approach so far this season. Harris had four carries in New York’s most recent game.
