As was widely speculated, the New York Giants activated Xavier McKinney today, paving the way for the rookie to make his NFL debut tomorrow. McKinney fractured his fifth metatarsal near the end of training camp, and has spent the season on Injured Reserve up to this point. Giant DC Pat Graham indicated earlier this week that they’ll likely play McKinney in certain packages once he was activated.
The rest of the injury news today was all negative, as four players who were on the Week 12 Game Status Report were downgraded today. Ryan Kelly (neck), Terrell Lewis (knee), and Irv Smith (groin, back) are all now downgraded to out for tomorrow. Tua Tagovailoa (left thumb) was downgraded to doubtful, and it looks likely that he won’t play tomorrow. Also, D.J. Fluker joined the growing ranks of Ravens players on the Reserve / COVID-19 list, and he’ll be unavailable as well.
Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported today that the Cleveland Cavaliers will sign Levi Randolph to an Exhibit 10 training camp deal on Tuesday (Randolph is currently playing with Team USA and has games on Sunday and Monday). Randolph will compete for a roster spot with the Cavs, and at worst would end up as an allocated player with the Canton Charge, where he excelled last season.
