Daily Recap – December 21, 2020

NFL announced its Pro Bowl rosters tonight, and Alabama is well represented. Derrick Henry and Minkah Fitzpatrick were selected as starters, while Marlon Humphrey, Josh Jacobs, and Ryan Kelly were selected as reserves. Ironically, all five selectees are on the AFC squad.

Derrick Henry picked up another FedEx Ground Player of the Week nomination this week.

NJ Advance Media has a long-form piece (subscriber exclusive) on Jalen Hurts’ relentlessness and his drive to always be improving. Lots of quotes from players and coaches from Hurts’ previous stops.

Former Alabama 800m specialist Kimberley Ficenec is the subject of an article in a Czech publication.

Shaun Dion Hamilton, who left yesterday’s game with an elbow injury, was placed on Injured Reserve by Washington today. With just 3 games left, expect a lot of players to go on IR with injuries that might just sideline them for a few weeks.

Former Alabama player and recent offensive analyst Rob Ezell was added to South Alabama’s new staff as a tight ends coach. He’ll be working with fellow Alabama analyst Major Applewhite, who is taking over as South Alabama’s offensive coordinator.

Would you like to bid on the shirt Merel Van Dongen wore this past Saturday when she scored the match-deciding goal?
