The Atlanta Falcons today announced the hiring of Nick Perry as assistant defensive backs coach. Perry has been a defensive analyst on Alabama’s staff the past few seasons.

Pinson Valley High School coach Sam Shade was named 6A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Football Coaches Association.

Some basketball highlights from today:

  • Retin Obasohan scored 21 points and added 5 assists in just 16 minutes of play for ERA Nymburk.
  • Daniel Giddens had a professional-best 14 points for Union Neuchâtel in a 98-92 win.
  • Alana Gonçalo Da Silva had season highs in both points (23) and assists (9) for Melilla La Salle in a narrow 89-85 loss.

Arinn Young had 17 points for the Rhine River Rhinos in a 64-58 win over ING Skywheelers.

Mac Jones sat out today’s Senior Bowl, but did do a sideline interview on the NFL Network broadcast.

Levi Randolph posted his second video log of quarantine life at the NBA G League bubble in Orlando.

The Backdoor Podcast, which Levi Randolph co-hosts, returned this weekend with a new episode. Randolph discusses the upcoming G League bubble, his recent experience with Team USA, Cavs’ training camp, and Alabama’s recent successes in both football and basketball.

Justin Thomas‘ shoes from his recent appearance in Abu Dhabi are up for bid. Proceeds will benefit Reach The End, an organization that combats neglected tropical diseases.
