Alexa Guarachi and partner Desirae Krawczyk advanced to the US Open women’s doubles quarterfinals with a straight set win today. A potential quarterfinal match-up with Erin Routliffe won’t happen, though, as Routliffe lost her 3rd round match in 3 sets today.

Kareem Jackson and Jalen Hurts were both named as captains of their respective teams today.

A’Shawn Robinson appears to be on track to play in Sunday’s season opener for the Los Angeles Rams. Robinson had a knee procedure during training camp.

The Draft Network looks at what Amari Cooper needs to do to be considered the best receiver in the NFL.

The American Association regular season ended today. Morgan McCullough, who started the season as a back-up middle infielder and occasional catcher, finishes with an average of .333 with 13 HR and 59 RBI. He has an OBP of .406 and slugged .557 (.963 OPS). McCullough’s Kansas City Monarchs team finishes 69-31 and is seeded 1st in the American Association playoffs.
